Mobile choreography
Camera View
The angle we used in the video on the right is a middle view. Everyone that was holding a mobile phone turned around to the right. This creates the illusion that all the individual videos together form one composition.
Mobile Choreography, what is that?
Mobile choreography is a way to make a video using multiple perspectives with mobile phones. This can be done by filming different angles of the same room and putting all the individual videos together, forming one composition. The type of mobile choreography we used for the video on the left is Performative Editing. This means that all individual videos have the same angle, a middle view (human perspective), where the persons in the video walk from one mobile phone to the other.
Camera View
In this video, we used three different angles. In the inner circle, you can see that we used a high view, where you can see the top of the room, and also the ceiling. In the second circle, we used a middle view including the back of people's heads. The view that we used for the outer circle is a low view, where you can see the floor and people's feet. In this composition, the mobile phones of the inner and outer circle are moving to the left and the second circle is moving to the right, creating a contrast in movement.
Reflection
While making the first composition, my group and I came across some difficulties. It was quite hard to make all the individual films overlap in order to make this one composition work. After we tried it multiple times, it worked and I am very pleased with the end result. The second composition was not as hard to make as the first one. In my opinion, this composition went well. The third composition did not turn out to be great. That was because eith so many people it is very hard to make the composition look good. Overal, I am satisfied with the results.
